The Italian Fashion Journey: Florence, Milan and Como

The Italian Fashion Journey is our signature multi-city itinerary through the heart of Italian style: seven nights across Florence, Milan and Como. You move from the leather ateliers and craft houses of Florence, to the runways, boutiques and design districts of Milan, to the silk mills and lakeside villas of Como — one curated route, one dedicated team, one continuous story of how Italian fashion is made and worn.

The route: Florence, Milan and Como

Three cities, one continuous story of Italian fashion — from how it is made to how it is worn.

Florence — the cradle of craft

Florence is where Made in Italy began. The journey opens with the leather ateliers of the Santa Croce district, the Gucci Garden on Piazza della Signoria and the Costume Gallery at Palazzo Pitti, with time among the boutiques of Via de' Tornabuoni.

Milan — the runway capital

Milan is Italian fashion at full volume: the Quadrilatero della Moda, flagship boutiques on Via Montenapoleone, private ateliers, Fondazione Prada and Armani Silos — and, in season, the shows themselves.

Como — silk and serenity

Como has supplied the world's great houses with silk for generations. The journey closes on the lake with the silk heritage of houses such as Mantero and Ratti, the Museo della Seta, and a stay among the historic villas of Cernobbio.

The itinerary, day by day

A seven-night route. Every day is adjustable — this is the shape, not a fixed schedule.

Days 1–2

Days 1–2 · Florence: craft and heritage

Arrival and a private welcome. A leather atelier visit in the Santa Croce district with the artisans at the bench, the Gucci Garden on Piazza della Signoria, and the Costume Gallery at Palazzo Pitti with an industry guide. An afternoon among the boutiques and tailoring houses of Via de' Tornabuoni.

Days 3–5 · Milan: runways and boutiques

A private transfer to Milan. A stylist-led day through the Quadrilatero della Moda — Via Montenapoleone, Via della Spiga, Via Sant'Andrea — followed by a private atelier or showroom visit. A design and architecture day across Fondazione Prada and Armani Silos. In season, curated fashion week access can replace one of these days.

Days 6–7

Days 6–7 · Como: silk and the lake

Who the journey is for

It is for travelers who want the definitive Italian style trip in a single seamless itinerary, without assembling it themselves. It suits couples, small groups of friends traveling together, and solo travelers who want expert company. The route can extend to Venice or Rome, or align with Milan Fashion Week for those who want the shows as well. See our fashion week tours

When is the best time to go?

The journey runs all year. Spring, from April to June, and early autumn, in September and October, offer the best weather for Lake Como and the most comfortable conditions for walking Florence and Milan. Time it freely, or align it with the fashion calendar — Milan Fashion Week in February and September. Winter brings quieter ateliers and more personal access; August is the one month we advise against, as many workshops and boutiques close.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the Italian Fashion Journey?

Seven nights as standard: two in Florence, three in Milan and two on Lake Como. It can be shortened to five nights by concentrating on two cities, or extended to nine or more by adding Venice, Rome or a fashion week. The pace is fully adjustable to how much you like to see in a day.

What does the Italian Fashion Journey cost?

Every Italian Fashion Journey is quoted individually for your dates and group. A seven-night journey includes hotels, private transfers, curated access and a personal shopping day; flights and purchases are not included. Season, hotel standard and the level of access requested are what move the final figure. Share your plans and we will prepare a personalized itinerary and quote before you book.

Can I add fashion week or Paris?

Yes. The journey pairs naturally with Milan Fashion Week in February or September, or with the Milan + Paris circuit. Show and presentation access is quoted separately, since what is obtainable changes every season. Tell us your dates and we will tell you honestly what that week allows.

Is the journey private?

Yes. It is fully private and bespoke, designed for you or your group alone. There are no shared departures, no fixed groups and no set dates — the journey runs when you want to travel.

Do I need to speak Italian?

No. The entire journey is led in English, from your concierge to the stylists, guides and atelier hosts. Other languages can be arranged on request.
